Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer

Manufacturing/QA Engineer a hybrid role.

Location Santa Rosa, CA.
Salary $79K to $118K DOE, plus bonus and full benefits.
Relocation is available if needed.

 Responsibilities:
  • Lead project teams to improve critical Manufacturing and Quality processes and drive financial results.
  • Identify project scopes; develop project plans and business cases.
  • Document Procedures and lead Advanced Quality Planning.
  • Work with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to streamline processes and increase yields using Six Sigma Lean principles.
  • Lead Quality improvement projects within the value center and effectively coordinate these projects with the value center champion and other improvement project teams. Project leadership includes identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, launching project teams, using good project management to manage team activities, leading teams to execute projects with the problem-solving methodology, tracking project status and results, removing and elevating project barriers, and developing team members. Develop problem statements to organize and complete projects.
  • Advanced Quality planning: AP/QP, Quality design process and control.
  • Direct involvement in NPI (New Product Introduction); driving quality plans to ensure as designed product builds are robust and reproducible final products.
  • Ownership of Troubleshooting processes along with the development of techniques and tooling to facilitate manufacturing processes.
  • Rubber and thermal plastic design.
  • Problem-solving mastery; based on Six Sigma Problem Solving tools with the intention to increase team effectiveness.
  • Documenting and inspecting Quality Procedures: documentation of detailed work instructions and control plans for specific parts.
  • Develops inspection plans for purchased material and purchased parts in SAP.
  • Works with manufacturing to conduct process capabilities.
  • Communication:  Cross-Functional communication; works closely with all elements of the manufacturing workflow. This also includes capturing project Best Practices.
     
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering / Quality Engineering.
  • Rubber/Thermal Plastics background preferred.
  • 5 years of Engineering experience.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • CQE: Certification in Quality Engineering, preferred.
  • Project Management and multi-tasking; strong leadership skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; group facilitation skills; trainer/instructor skills; ability to learn and perform statistical analysis.
  • Computer Skills:  Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Access, ProE preferred, SAP.
