Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

CFO will lead the financial management of the firm and its affiliate companies.
 
The CFO role is designed to be a solid business partner to the CEO and COO.
 
We're searching for an experienced CFO to join our team of high-performing professionals to help keep our finances insightful and instrumental to our continued success. The CFO will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on the firm and affiliates' operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position. This seasoned strategist is not only well versed in all aspects of financial management but has proven experience effectively managing M&A activities and a successful track record to be a positive agent of change in the organization.

As a member of our senior management, he or she will be comfortable in a very hands-on leadership role that demands clear communication, high degree of proactiveness and responsiveness, high level of EI, people skills and strong analytical and presentation skills.

Objectives of this Role:
  • Drive the firm and affiliates' financial strategy (profitable growth expansion) leveraging the partnership with CEO and COO to accomplish this.
  • Coordinate the development of the annual operating, capital, and program budgets for the company and affiliate companies, and reporting against the same.
  • Responsible, either directly or by managing staff, for all cash management cycle (billing, collections, etc.), investments, budgeting, financial analysis, planning and reporting.
  • Ensure cash flow is compatible with firm's operations and budget, by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization.
  • Partner in the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible finance organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow.
  • Partner with COO to monitor and enhance the optimal firm's risk management and insurance strategy.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and taking action.
  • Partner with CEO and COO in the execution of M&A strategy of the firm throughout all its phases (target identification, due diligence, integration).
  • Responsible for all Tax Compliance matters of the firm and its affiliates.
  • Responsible for the effective management and administration of the tax compliance, compensation and benefit matters pertaining to the partners of the firm and affiliates (Equity Directors).
 
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the timely and proper monthly books closing.
  • Supervise the department's monthly performance with respect to the KPI set for the finance department.
  • Identify areas of cost efficiencies across firm and affiliates and process enhancement.
  • Perform balance sheet risk management through analysis of company liabilities, investment strategies and cash flow needs.
  • Evaluate and manage and enhance existing banking relationships.
  • Coordinate with the CHRO and her team payroll, benefits, and other HR related matters.
  • Manage the Firm's Equity Directors tax and compensation processes.
  • Monitor performance with tracking, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting for earnings calls, the management team, and the rest of the company.
  • Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, and other relevant regulations.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • CPA designation.
  • Master's degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance.
  • Minimum of 10+ years experience in a successful CFO role.
  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Understanding of advanced accounting (US GAAP), regulatory issues, and tax compliance and planning.
  • Experience managing processes based on data analysis and usage of new data-based technologies and tools (Power BI, Tableau, AI, RPA, blockchain).    
  • Experience managing lines of credit and banking relationships.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office and financial management systems preferably Dynamics 365.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions activities.
  • Experience leading Change Management Processes.
  • Executive experience in professional services firms that possess several business units / affiliates or subsidiaries is highly preferred.
