Network Administrator - Davie, FL

Onsite only and MUST be vaccinated. 
 
Salary: $45K - $75K plus great benefits and PTO
 
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The Network Administrator will be responsible for a broad range of tasks related to the overall installation, maintenance, enhancement, optimization, security and documentation of Federation's network and systems.  The Network Administrator will actively monitor, diagnose, and resolve technology issues, optimize system performance, provide hands on day-to-day support and spearhead improvement initiatives.  The preferred candidate will be a continuous learner, possess a strong work ethic, familiar with (or willingness to learn and abide by rules pertaining to) working in a ticketing system and have experience working a wide variety of end users.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain and understand all parts of the  IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Implement and maintain network systems using industry best practices; work with external vendors as needed.
  • Manage tasks to completion and assist with project management as needed.
  • Manage and improve network security capabilities and solutions.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated issues.
  • Assist with IT audits and system backups and recovery.
  • Provide mobile device support.
  • Stay current on the latest technology and information security trends and make recommendations for potential use at the Federation.
  • Documentation and planning, particularly policies and procedures around data storage and disaster recovery
  • LAN / WAN / WIFI / VPN
  • Collaborate with management and the outsourced IT firm to assess short- and long-term network and system needs.
  • Define and scope improvement and maintenance projects.
  • Create and maintain documentation for all relevant systems and changes.
  • Assistance with audited financial statements as it relates to network security, and IT policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of RFP's and RFQ's.
     
 
STATUS AND SCOPE: Initiate and respond to ongoing contacts with Federation professionals, donors, volunteers, and third-party vendors.
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or similar field of study. 
  • Two or more years of experience in IT / IS.  
  • In-depth understanding of TCP / IP networking, including switching, routing, VLANs, DNS and wired/wireless connectivity.  
  • Microsoft Windows Network Management, including Windows Server 2016 and 2019, Active Directory and Group Policy.  
  • Strong understanding of Information Security best practices.  
  • Experience with both PC and MAC systems.
  • Experience with 365 Management and Administration, including Exchange Online, Mobile Device Management, Teams, OneDrive and Azure AD, Zoom and Avaya phone systems.  
  • Hosted/Cloud infrastructure solutions.  
  • Backup and Disaster recovery solutions.
     
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial.  Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential.  The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office (accessing files/storage, office equipment, computers and other office productivity devices, attending meetings, etc.), is required. Using a computer while sitting for extended periods is common.  Must also be able to position self to maintain equipment, including under tables and desks.
 
Heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of 20 lbs. or less of force (e.g., picking up and carrying laptops / tablets) may be required.  Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners).
 
Position requires stamina to work extended days to include early morning, evening and weekend events and meetings in addition to the regular work schedule.  Ability to interface with all levels of the organization (both technical and non-technical).  Ability to perform after-hours and periodic weekend work and adhere to an on-call schedule.
 
 
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires flexibility with the ability to focus on detail while handling multiple tasks and periods of frequent interruptions.  Must be able to plan and organize assignments independently, to create and develop research and to present information effectively to groups.  Analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to approach work creatively.  Ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritize and deliver on time.  Ability to work well in a remote or in-person environment.
